STEAM ACTIVITIES:
Hope
Creating letters and numbers using Legos as a fine motor activity or an engineering design challenge.
Creating a textured art and the the frame to display it.
Students used the engineering design process to create usable items out of paper.
Use shapes to create animals.
Using tweezers to pick up items is a great fine motor activity, especially in water.
We made valentine's day cards for all our virtual school family along with heart creations out of different materials such as Legos.
Engineering Design Challenge: Create a structures using marshmallows and toothpicks.
Learn
Student's created a map of their neighborhood to learn about civil engineering.
3D Shape Challenge
Students used the engineering design process of explore, create, and improve to make a model of a dinosaur skeleton.
Students created a sensory sticks out of recycled materials to learn about different textures such as smooth, soft, bumpy, and rough.
Learn about comparing using measurements and other elements students can observe.
Students create shelters recycled materials. The challenge was to protect their toys from the different weather.
Students drew their plan based on the materials they were using to make a structure. Then they created the structure in their drawing to teach the first two steps of the engineering design process.
Place shapes on the floor using masking tape. Have students find items around the house that match the shapes and sort them into the correct shape.
